Since 1995, the Chevy Tahoe has been fulfilling the needs of drivers who need a spacious SUV with cargo space and seating for seven or eight passengers. For 2023, Chevrolet updated some exterior styling features, like exchanging the Chevy Bowtie with the full maker's name in all caps.

Three Engine Choices and Loaded with Safety Features

The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe performance features include three engine options. The 17.6-foot SUV requires serious power to move it down the road, and the standard engine since 1995 has been a V8. The modern powertrain is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and an optional 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower.

The automaker also offers an available turbo-diesel 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All models have a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available, and when properly equipped, the large SUV can tow up to 8,400 pounds.

The comfortable and powerful ride is accented by a collection of safety features. The Chevrolet Tahoe safety features included in the entry-level LS trim include Forward Collision Warning, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Automatic High-Beam Headlights, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, a Rear-Seat Alert, and a Rearview Camera.

Drivers who move to the LT trim get additional features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a Surround-View Parking Camera System.

The top trims - Premier and High Country - have a full suite of driver-assistive features that combine to create the Super Cruise tech feature. They include Adaptive Cruise Control, a Head-up Display, and Reverse Collision Detection. An Auxiliary Trailer Camera is available on the High Country trim.

Infotainment and Comfort Features Abound

The full-size Chevrolet Tahoe interior has three rows of seats as a standard feature, and the full-size SUV comes with 123 cubic feet of cargo space with the second and third rows folded. The driver and passengers will enjoy a comfortable ride that begins with cloth upholstery and 10-way power adjustability in the SL trim and moves into genuine leather upholstery with heated front seats in the LT trim.

Standard tech features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, six USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system. The LT has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, and the Premier trim has Navigation and a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system.
